With a record number of water attractions, interactive waiver queuing, roller coaster on the water and full volcano show, Universal’s Volcano Bay opens in Orlando
Those who are packing for Orlando have another great park option to put on the agenda: the Universal’s Volcano Bay . Universal’s new park, due to open this Thursday (25), was designed to be an island full of adventures with 18 attractions.
In the heart of the park is the Krakatau volcano, which gave its name to the space. Giant, more than 60 meters high, four slides come out of it. The largest, Ko’okiri Body Plunge, has a fall with 70 degrees of incline and 38 meters of height. The tube ends in a pool with other visitors swimming! At the Krakatau Acqua Coster, visitors will embark on specially designed canoes and be thrown up and down on Florida’s first water-coaster.
Children are not left out: on one of the slides they can slide on treadmills in underground caverns. Around the Krakatau, there is an artificial beach with waves, a place you can rest and also enjoy a show of waters that come out of your crater during the day and at night simulate lavas.
The main novelty of the park is the Tapu Tapu bracelet that is waterproof and is included in the ticket. It allows people to wait virtually in line while taking advantage of other areas of the park. The bracelet itself will tell you when the person should arrive at the attraction. The accessory can also activate special effects such as controlling streams of water coming out of the whales in the toy at Tot Tiki Reef, firing water cannons at visitors passing through the Kopiko Wai Winding River, lighting up images in the hidden caves of the volcano. It also gives to shop by the park with her and to store the photos that are drawn automatically from some points of the park. To enjoy the benefits of Tapu Tapu, one must create an account in the Universal Orlando Resort application or on the Universal Orlando website.
The park also has six restaurants with more than 60 snacks and dishes inspired by the flavors of the South Pacific. Smoked and caramelized Hawaiian ribs, pulled pork with mango sauce, hot dog with pretzel batter, tacos and various fish options are on the menu.
